Cutting by localized metal melting, or Plasma, is a process offering an excellent cutting quality on thicknesses up to 50 mm. As with welding, an electric arc is created between the infusible electrode and the part to be cut, the gas nozzle releases gas to reduce the arc and form a plasma jet. When it reaches the part to be cut, the metal melts under the heat produced and the gas flow pushes back the molten metal from the cutting wake.
As for welding, or grinding, the Plasma cutting requires a workers protection by installing extraction solutions for metal spatter and rejected gases.
3 good reasons to extract plasma cutting fumes
Indeed, plasma cutting generates high temperatures, leading to partial metal vaporization. This phenomenon produces fumes and toxic gases that are particularly harmful to workers' health. Be exposed to these substances can provoke acute risks (eyes, skin, respiratory tract), and also cardio-respiratory diseases.
It is essential to extract these pollutants close to their emission point with efficient extraction systems.
Operators' protection
Fumes extraction reduce significantly risks for workers' health, by limiting their exposure to hazardous substances.
Compliance with legislation
Health and safety regulations impose exposure limit values. An efficient extraction ensures compliance with legal requirements and avoid penalties or shutdowns.
Employee loyalty
Provide a clean and safe working environnement enhance the well-being and motivation team. It helps retain talents and improve company's image as a responsible employer.
